MRI Equipment

MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging, is one of the most efficient forms of medical imaging. The equipment uses strong magnets, radio waves, and computer processing to build fluid cross-sectional scans of the body. It works by taking images of every ‘slice’ of the body, then combining those images to create a full 3D representation. MRI equipment can be used with or without a contrasting agent, which would act to make certain tissues more visible in the scan. Gadolinium is a common contrasting agent, which is delivered through an IV. This equipment can be used to monitor the development of cancers, heart problems, and muscular issues.
