C-arms are imaging devices that use X-ray technology to provide a mobile option for certain clinics or operating rooms. The name comes from the shape of the physical arm that connects the X-ray detector and the X-ray source. The technology was rapidly enhanced after it was first introduced, and it has since been introduced to many areas of the medical field. Since these machines offer real-time X-ray imagery, they are an excellent tool for doctors in the OR who might have to make adjusts at a moment’s notice.
