Nuclear Medicine Equipment

Nuclear medicine involves the use of radioactive materials while treating and diagnosing disease. This could be thought of as radiology from the inside since it involves radiation coming from inside the body instead of an external source. This helps doctors record the imagery of function within the body instead of the pure anatomy. Nuclear medicine typically uses PET scans or SPECT scans as imaging modalities. Most forms of radiation used in nuclear medicine are taken either intravenously or orally.
